Good for the Soul (Holly Schindler)
I've wanted to do this for years--I mean years. Get back into art, I mean. But work just kept getting in the way. I couldn't manage to carve out time for it. But every Friday, Carrie Jones would post another Be Brave Friday post, which usually included a picture of her latest painting. I'd think, She's a full-time author! She releases multiple books a year! She has a hectic household too! She has two dogs to walk, and you only have one! What's your problem?
So I made learning Procreate my New Year's resolution. After dinner, I told myself, it's art time. Period. In the last eight months, it's absolutely exploded. And oh, has it been good for the soul.

I don't see myself ever going back. It is, in short, the best New Year's resolution I've ever made. It's not just something I'm doing on the side, it's part of my life.
This is one of my first still lifes--and my own first Be Brave Friday post, from earlier this past spring. It features a great-grandmother's vase, Mom's vintage glasses, and the daisies in Mom's wedding bouquet:
