make me laugh by Jane Kelley

Oh, Milwaukee. How I love my city! Where else could a person find an entire museum dedicated to THE BOBBLEHEAD? I'm doing an imitation because I haven't been immortalized in that fashion. Just about everyone else you could imagine is in there. Just look at the hysterical, I mean, historical figures! Who knew there were so many bobbles (as they call them)?

Silliness aside, why is the museum so fun and funny? Well, the name Bobble of course. It is an accurate description of what the heads do.  They bobble. In other words, move from side to side, up and down, who knows exactly, just that heads are not supposed to do that. Certainly not the heads of people we want to honor. These folks are all serious. They did great things for our country. And now look at them!

So here, writer friends, you have three important tenets of humor.

Surprise.

Making the mighty fall.

And above all else -- silliness.

JANE KELLEY is the author of many books and the upcoming family musical GRACE AND THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT, whose hero frequently falls down.
