Yes, Creativity is a Superpower!

 

When I think about the things that have most made my life my life, creativity is tops among them. 

Living a creative life is what brings me joy and pulls me forward and connects me to the world. 

That's why I knew Charles Waters and I should include "Create" in our DICTIONARY FOR A BETTER WORLD: POEMS, QUOTES & ANECDOTES FROM A TO Z (Irene Latham & Charles Waters, illus. by Mehrdokht Amini, Lerner, 2020). 

Here's the poem from the "Create" spread...it's a roundel! I hope it inspires you to go forth and create...in whatever way suits you best. 

Create

Gather paint and brush,

lift guitar and strum.

Make something in a mad rush—

who knows what—or who—you'll become?

When you're creating, you can't feel ho-hum;

the voice of your worst critic—you!—will hush

as your imagination begins to thrum.

Soon hope will gush,

each new idea a ripe plum.

Feel your face flush—

Who knows what—or who—you'll become?
