The Golden Hour for Writers

In the photography world, the Golden Hour is the time of day when the light is warm and soft, ideal for taking photographs.

Every writer has a Golden Hour, too. It's that hour when the words are most easily accessible, when the minutes tick by, and all the while, we're pouring words, feelings, and ideas onto the page.

For me, the Golden Hour is often before sunrise. I love early morning writing! There's something about the quiet house and the darkness that unlocks my heart.

Maybe early mornings are your Golden Hour. Or maybe you're a night writer.

The important thing is to

1. know when your Golden Hour happens

2. write your Most Important Things during that time.

Don't waste your Golden Hour on responding to emails or completing blog interviews. Fill your Golden Hour with the writing that matters most. Allow your writing to be raw during this hour—save the polishing for later!

For it's in this warm, soft light that your creativity thrives... don't waste it.

Happy creating,

Irene
