Red Sky at Night (Holly Schindler)

I heard it repeated often in Missouri: Red sky at night, sailor's delight. For some reason, a red sunset was supposed to be a prediction of nice weather the next day. Why Missourians were concerned with sailors remains a bit of mystery, as do most things in Missouri...

2025 is coming to its own sunset, and (like a lot of people, I think) I can't say I'm really all that sad about it. But there's something about a new year ahead...as I begin to make plans, both creative and otherwise, for a new year, I get that hopeful sense. A sense that as the year closes, we're looking straight into a red sky at night...

Happy New Year to all. May 2026 bring peace, happiness, and goodwill...
