Falling From October Skies  by Darlene Beck Jacobson

Autumn blows amber gusts
Leaves descend from aerial perches
riding the wind
Dancing pirouettes
They land to the crackling applause
of those that came before
Now huddled together in the aisles
Only the feet of men and beasts disturb their slumber
