Journal Me This
2019 writing journal |
I do most of my writing on a Macbook. I
like how “clean” it is, especially compared to my handwriting!
But I don't always have my computer with me, so I also use the Notes
feature on my phone – and I always always keep a writing
journal. My current one was a Christmas gift from my sister. I've
been using it for all of 2019, and I rather like the thought of a
yearly journal (though it's never quite worked out for me in the
past). As we move into the last weeks of the year, I think I'll have
just enough pages.
What goes inside the journal? Well,
everything!
inspiring words |
travel notes |
notes from conversation with editor about wip |
inspiring quotes found in books I'm reading |
to-do lists |
writing prompts found on favorite websites |
And here is my response to that writing prompt:
The brain of a lake is rain.
Sometimes a mirror, always a
weatherwane.
The feet of a lake are fish.
How they dart, dash, swish!
The hands of a lake are mud and grass,
gentle enough to hold a boat made of
glass.
Thanks so much for reading!

Love all the tidbits you keep in your journal. While I have lists of prompts, favorite quotes, and an idea jar with scraps of paper, having it all together makes so much more sense.
ReplyDeleteDarlene, it's really been working out for me this year! And it's such a great record, too. :)
DeleteLove that you let us have peeks into your journal!
ReplyDeleteIt DOES feel really personal! But I am always telling students to be vulnerable, share who you are... and so... thanks for reading!
DeleteLoved seeing how you use your journal, a delightful collection for all the stuff that comes your way.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ramona! Sometimes I have to spend some time deciphering my own handwriting. Ha! xo
DeleteDitto - and I loved seeing the poem you made from that prompt!
