I attended a poetry-writing workshop once where our leader announced in advance that she would fine us $5 for any preemptive apology about our work - and she collected quite a lot. I'm going to work hard on NOT saying "The turkey is dry"!cmillshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03128598629089024454noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5488191966351130111.post-8882991589900106212019-09-14T07:48:46.562-05:002019-09-14T07:48:46.562-05:00I like it, applicable really to everyone for nearl...I like it, applicable really to everyone for nearly anything, really. It’s the apology that we aren’t perfect, but really the most interesting things about a person are often times the quirk, kinks and other anomalies. Often those are the connecting factors from one person to another. Perfection doesn’t promote connection. Nervousness is okay, it serves a purpose for us sometimes, and nobody else focuses as much on it as you (the speaker/author/person being judged) do.Torybhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07936237157250490083noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5488191966351130111.post-1409132204171623102019-09-14T05:32:14.056-05:002019-09-14T05:32:14.056-05:00This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.Alberthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03652103226009405934noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5488191966351130111.post-62224529540594300852019-09-13T16:27:37.753-05:002019-09-13T16:27:37.753-05:00Ooh! Especially because it made me realize that I give this "no disclaimer" advice always to people in my writing group when we're going to read out loud....but I'm finding myself giving disclaimers to so much in my life right now....including the dinner I just made my boyfriend last night. He said: "Oh my god! This is wonderful." And I said: "Meh. It's much blander than I thought it would be." So in other words....thank you for the reminder! I also love that PP slide! :) I wonder if you could keep it in your presentations but not comment on it ;)Sera Rivershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18120417461447755328noreply@blogger.com
